Preamble
The Augustana certificate course in Information Technology is validated by
the Commission For Higher Education (CHE) and is intended to provide
students with technical and technological skills required by industry at
elementary levels. The programme is also structured to provide students
with an alternative route onto the Augustana diploma programme in IT.
Students who excel at the certificate level are admitted into the diploma
programme.
Entry Requirements
Candidates for admission into the certificate in Information Technology
should satisfy the following minimum requirement:
- An aggregate grade of C- (Minus) in KCSE or Division III in KCE
with at least a credit in Mathematics and English or an equivalent
qualification recognized by the University Senate.
Structure
The course shall be done through course work and examinations.
The course shall take ONE semester.
Assesment
The examinations shall be moderated and approved by the College.
Examinations shall be conducted at the end of the semester at the college or at an approved Centre and in both cases shall be
supervised by the College.
Examinations shall consist of written examination and continuous
assessment tests
The continuous assessment shall contribute 40% of the total marks
while the written examination shall contribute 60% of the total
marks.

Fee Policy:
- Fees are due on or before the first day of the term/quarter.
- Mode of payment: by bankers cheque, cash or personal cheque. (in the event of dishonour of a cheque, the bank charges shall be debited to the student's account). Contact the college administration for more clarification after completing our application process.
- No refunds will be given for absence through illness, vacation or any other reason.
